Bird and Butterfly Garden Adopters Needed!

Friends of Portage Lakes State Park Bird and Butterfly Trail is looking for gardeners interested in “adopting a site” within the sanctuaries of the new Bird and Butterfly Trail in the Portage Lakes State Park.

Adopters would be response for:

Stewardship of one 10’ x 10’ site; site owners will plant their own foliage and will be provided with a list of suitable plants.  No invasive plants will be permitted.  At Least 50% of the plants must be native to Ohio.  The rest must be non-invasive ornamental flowers during the growing season including: weeding, watering, feeding, plant division.

Other tasks might include interpretation for visitors and nature walk co-leading if appropriate when site is fully developed.
